5.0 out of 5 stars funky acid jazz, May 26, 2000

In my opinion, there are only two bands who make excellent acid jazz music: the brand new heavies (who are from england) and UFO (who are from japan). This album is simply excellent. It's funky, groovy and quite sophisticated. You can't prevent from dancing around when you hear it and at the same time, it's enough elaborated to be appealing for a demanding audience... As I was saying, also check out the brand new heavies' releases (especially shelter and brother sister or the best of, "trunk funk")

5.0 out of 5 stars One word: Doopsylalolic, July 7, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: No Sound Is Too Taboo (Audio CD)
How can you possibly define the music of a group like UFO? Is it jazz? Is it rock? Is it funk? Is it R&B? The answer is yes, yes, yes, yes! UFO is a little bit of everything and so is this CD. From the groovy feat of United Future Airlines to the blusy Magic Wand of Love, all the way to the otherworldly funk of Doopsylalolic, No Sound Too Taboo is exactly what it says; anything and everything you could want that bursts free of any constraining genre labels. The beats are powerful, the lyrics brilliant and the case is cool too! No wonder Verve snatched these guys up. Thanks goodness for the university radio station for playing this disc at 1:00am and introducing UFO to this now eternal fan.
