5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent relaxation cd for the weary mind
I love to put on an eyemask, headphones (actually, mine are built in the eyemask) and listen to a good ambient work or New Age cd to head off to sleep or take a siesta. I find the music relaxes my mind and lets me drift quietly to sleep.

Expected more. Not that calming or relaxing to listen to but not head-banger music either. If you have some cash to burn go ahead but don't say I didn't warn you.

This review is from: Sound Therapy: Serenity (Audio CD)
I love to put on an eyemask, headphones (actually, mine are built in the eyemask) and listen to a good ambient work or New Age cd to head off to sleep or take a siesta. I find the music relaxes my mind and lets me drift quietly to sleep.

David Lyndon Huff's "Serenity" is one in a series of relaxation CD's for sound therapy. "Serenity" features harp with piano and synthesizer keyboard. The tempo is one that is even for breathing--about 62 beats per minute or so. The dynamics are soft but not boring. The opening work "Prayer of Serenity" is by far the best, but all of them blend well together to make over one hour of smoothly transitioning relaxation music.

Massage therapists, meditation practicioners and people like me who just use this kind of music to relax would enjoy this. Frequent flyers take note: this CD is great on long, awful plane rides. I can't count the times I've used this sort of CD and an eyemask to relax and arrive so much less stressed after a flight. This of course makes a terrific gift for Valentines Day, Mother's Day, an anniversary or a birthday. Add some champagne or aromatic bath salts, a diffuser and some essential oils or a nice candle.

This is pleasant New Age music. If it were advertised as just music, I'd give it maybe 3 stars. I have some other CDs that really are helpful in attaining a mood, or in a few cases even meditating. This is not one of them. Try Hemi-Sync Inner Journey, Relax: Reflections of Nature, or any of the early Suzanne Ciani CDs.
