World Jazz with an attitude.,
By Brett Lemke (www.maximumink.com) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sound Travels (Audio CD)
World jazz fusion is a very effective and appropriate placement for Jesse Allen Cooper's new album. The incorporation of many different styles and rhythms removes "Sound Travels" from the "Smooth Jazz" category and places it closer to fusion. The percussion really sets this album apart, with tasteful drum interludes, and cloudy chimes clinking through the background. Undoubtedly the result of years of private compositions, the album is definitely mood music to relax to in any way imaginable. The soprano saxophone is very diverse, yet his tone remains solid, and his phrasing is 100& on the ball. Check out Jessie's website at www.coopersoundwaves.com. I have been listening to Jessie Allen Cooper's music for years. Jessie has been around a long time doing what he loves the most, writing and performing creative music for the jazz lover's ear. This new CD is no exception to his usual smooth jazz. Hats off to you, Jessie keep us entertained for years to come.
