Thoughtful Remaster,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sound of Water - Deluxe Edition (Audio CD)
"Sound of Water" Deluxe Edition is housed in a plastic slip case containining a four fold glossy digipak. The digipak also houses a 24-page booklet with exhaustive liner notes about the band and some insight and background of the creation of the songs. If your a hard core fan of Saint Etienne your thirst for information should be satiated in the liner notes.
The first Cd is the album in its entiriety that has a refreshed sound due to the remastering. The second Cd contains remastered b-sides and alternate mixes released during the "Sound Of Water" period. The entire "Places to Visit" EP is represented in the second disc as well which will delight many fans. "Sound Of Water" Deluxe Edition is a great example of what a thoughtful remastering release can sound and look like. I won't bother with the review of the album because if you are considering this album you probably have heard it and know its a great Cd that mixes pastoral sounds with light sprinkles of electronica and an intelligent English pop sensibility.
