I always used to ride with headphones although dangerous and illegal. Its obvious that headphones reduce situation awareness as if you lost one of your primary sense while trying to know whats happening around you. However, I really can not stand my rides home without music, it's as if your stereo broke on your car - it can get really boring! These sound speakers are wonderful replacements for headphones. Sound quality is really crisp, but dont expect much from the bass. The 3 Velcro straps makes it easy to secure on any positions on my bike. A cheap option to those expensive multi bike speaker system mounts. The batteries last forever on these - I accidentally left it on for 3 days and it still had power!

Despite the expensive (and rapid) shipping rates, this little gadget is definitely worth the price. I would describe Its' sound quality as being strong on the highs and mids.....and as for the bass it does well for its size.
well, I'd have to say you can tell the Soundshell is trying to reproduce deep bass, but there limited room inside this product to fit two speakers and a case for your sunglasses. That said, it still stands a high competition against the out-dated bike speakers that need mounting accessories that not always fit my bike. And of course, I love the fact that it requires 2 batteries and lasts forever. A nicely made product.

I love these speakers! It does not affect my hearing ability on traffic around me. The sound quality is amazing for what it looks like. You would expect some dirt cheap speakers quality, but this thing really performs like my PC speakers (although they are not very expensive neither). I can now finally enjoying riding my bike without worrying too much about ending up in hospital. Having the ability to ride my bike and listen to iphone playlist makes my journeys go so fast.

I'll be ordering a second one for my wife - she's been jealous of my new bike speakers :P I wonder what will it sound like if we biked together and have different music?!
PS I use iphone 3gs and it works perfectly fine. The slot for your music device fits iphones well (should fit the 4G well too) not to say it won't be a problem for those new tiny ipod nanos...
