His musical interests extended beyond traditional Gypsy influences,

This review is from: Sounds From a Bygone Age 4 (Audio CD)
Sounds from a Bygone Age Volume 4 the latest music CD installment of past musical treasures by legendary international artists. Volume 4 features fourteen songs by Toni Iordache, the great Romanian tambal player, who was bestowed the highest honors in his day and sentenced to a year in prison for seeking small pleasures. Arrested for the crime possessing foreign currency (acquired from his international tours), his fame and skill were so beloved that his fellow inmates helped him with his share of hard prison labor. Sounds from a Bygone Age Volume 4 especially features Iordache's cimbalom music; Iordache's exceptional speed, timing, and sensitivity allowed him to create superlative performances. His musical interests extended beyond traditional Gypsy influences, to incorporate elements of other musical styles such as jazz. Sounds from a Bygone Age Volume 4 echoes the era of the Iron Curtain, featuring the original analogue sound of Iordache's music as recorded in the 1960's and 1970's. Enthusiastically recommended for public and private music CD libraries.
