About the Artist

The South Shore Circus Concert Band, under the direction of Richard Whitmarsh, is made up of 25 enthusiastic musicians who are experienced in playing circus music. They have appeared in pre-show concerts for the Big Apple Circus in New York and Boston, and were featured atop an authentic bandwagon in the Macy's Parade in 2001 and 2003.

This is pure unadulterated music from the Golden Age of the American Circus, backed up by information on how the music was used by the circus. The numbers are presented as they would be played at an actual circus, with all the enthusiasm expected from a circus band.
