This farm book is great because it contains real photos of the animals along with decent quality sound that must be activated by your child with a button. The pages expand to include details about each animal that is more for your toddler. The quality of the book binding is also good so it can take a beating from your teething infant.

This is a FUN book, for kids and parents, an ideal holiday gift. It's a "noisy" book, with 8 buttons for the various barnyard animal sounds, but not annoying! Sounds on the Farm is very clever: each page has a short, age-appropriate riddle, i.e. "I walk with a waddle on my webbed feet. Who am I?" On the facing page is a colored barn, and the direction to "PUSH the yellow button to HEAR me. OPEN the barn door to SEE me." The sounds are authentic, the pictures are great, and the book is sturdy (important in a flap book!). The riddle page also folds open to reveal a colorful drawing of the animal on the barnyard with "Did You Know?" facts and information--again, age-appropriate, which is wonderful. My four-year-old enjoyed the facts as much as the game of the riddle and the sound. Very, very cool!

This is a great book if your 'sound strip' remains intact. The quality of this book, or at least the copy we received, was horrible. The strip was barely glued on and therefore came off easily after only about a week, exposing the wires.

Bought this for my 1 year old. He learned these animals before any other, along with the colors and pushing buttons to make a noise. He's over 2 now, and still reads this book daily.

The book has nice pictures and photographs, but my 14 months old son broke the circuitry within a few days. The strip is supposed to be glued to the book but somehow, one wire came off, resulting in no sound from the book. The whole strip also came off easily. Other than that, I still think the book is wonderful.

If your child loves farm animals this book is a must! My daughter loved this book at age one! She learned a lot from this book too. She is almost 4 and still reads it. When she is finished I will take the batteries out and keep it for her so she can share with her children one day.

My son received this book when he was 13 months old. The noises are a bit loud and he was afraid of the barking dog for a few days. But, he got over it, and he learned to make all the animals sounds by the time he was 15 months. He is now 20 months and it is still a favorite.

One extra that we discovered is that there is a tiny ladybug on each animal's page, so that is fun to search for as well.

This book is very sturdy and an excellent deal!

Our grandaughter loves this book and the sounds it makes. I just wish there were books with more animal sounds like the old ones that would do 20-30 sounds.

I bought this book a couple of years ago and the sheep sound never worked. Still, my students and I LOVED it (and still do) but it is getting somewhat worn. I wanted to buy another copy of the book; however the price is not even reasonable AT ALL!!! Is this a mistake?
I'd like to know. Approx. $34.00 up to $4,000.000 ??????? WOW - I would need to keep it in a safe place (maybe a vault)- and what good would that do me when I am trying to engage young children? I see that Sounds on the Go is about $12.00 - much better price - I have that one, too and we all like it A LOT.

The book, Sounds on the Farm, arrived much earlier than expected. It was in good condition (as described). However, the battery-operated buttons at the bottom of the book work sporadically - most of the time they work, but sometimes they do not. I don't know if it is because they are sensitive to our touch, or the batteries are not fresh. We've only played with Sounds on the Farm for a few days - it was an Easter present. Our 2-year-old Grandson played with it when he first got it and the buttons worked for a while, then they stopped working completely. Then for no reason whatsoever, the buttons started working again - all within 10 minutes' time. There is no on/off switch included to keep batteries fresh. Time will tell.

Written and reviewed 3 weeks later - Now that we have had some time playing with the book and using all the buttons, there seems to be no problem with it whatsoever. All the buttons are working fine and we don't have the problem discussed earlier. I would definitely recommend this seller and this book.
