Fine Trio,

Joe Lovano puts in a great performance here - some free-wheeling sax playing, and even some subtle ballads to smooth things over. The band is Anthony Cox on Bass and Ed Balckwell on drums. Cox in particular deserves mention, because his bass work is quite nice, and some of his solos are extraordinary.Apart from that, the production quality of this release is very "clubby" with grounds the music and gives you a "being there" kind of feel that is always welcome. I hadn't pegged this to be a great Joe Lovano album, but having purchased it, I was pleasantly surprised. Great work, and anyone into Joe is in for a real treat.
