As a resident of the Outer Banks, I ordered this CD as I live too far back from the ocean to hear it at home. This CD's recording of the ocean sounds on Night Surf, the Storm Warning thunderstorm, The Island Pines, and Bay Birds are authentic to the local area and are not covered or interrupted by other sounds or music like on other nature recordings. The Ocean is all you hear - the occaisonal gull cries are natural and background, not overdubbed and too loud as in some other nature CD's. Here you get the actual ambiance of being on the beach, on a porch during a storm, or by a bay. The Island Pines sound wonderful--with the faint sounds of the insects in the trees as the wind plays center stage. If you've ever been to Roanoke Island, you'll recognize the sounds.

I love this nature sound effects album. It sounds so real,like I'm really there. I live in Phoenix,but I used to live in North Carolina and this album reminds me of being back there again. And the Thunderstorm is the best I've ever heard on any nature sound recording! It's really incredible,it sounds just like you are right there!
