Finding Joy in Simple Things,
This review is from: Sounds So Good (MP3 Download)
In 2008, I bought Ashton Shepherd's country music CD titled "Sounds So Good" and listened to every track several times. To see what I think of the complete CD, find information on it in Amazon, then scroll down from the newest reviews to mine submitted on July 3, 2008.
The present review is longer than would be necessary to describe one MP3 track. It includes comments on the CD source of several tracks. It also serves an an introduction to all available tracks coming from the same CD. If you do a search in Amazon using the words "Ashton Shepherd tracks" you will see a list of 13 available MP3 tracks. The first 11 are tracks from the complete "Sounds So Good" CD. The last 2 are Karaoke tracks. Track 12 is a regular Karaoke version. Track 13 is a teaching Karaoke version. The MP3 track numbers are much different than the CD track numbers. If you are comparing MP3 tracks with CD tracks, you cannot go by track numbers. You must go by titles. If you read my review of the CD, it should be clear that I love 10 out of 11 tracks. This means it would be very difficult to choose MP3 tracks based on quality and much easier to choose by type of song or subject of ltyrics. The one exception is MP3 track 11 (CD track 10) titled "The Bigger the Heart." If your tastes are similar to mine, this song is just OK. As for the "Sounds So Good" MP3 track 1 (CD track 2), I think it is terrific and well worth buying. It is about finding joy in simple things like riding in a truck, playing the radio and observing the wonders of nature that surround us. I also hear in it a celebration of freedom. For a sufficiently young person, I think this would mean the uplifting feeling of temporarily being free of supervision by parents, teachers and bosses of all kinds. In the next few days,I plan to write much shorter reviews of all ten of the remaining MP3 tracks (minus the two Karaoke tracks).
