ELEGIA are French duo Laurent Collat and vocalist and lyricist Esther. Their album, Sounds Within (F Communications), is a promising debut, utilising all the DIY possibilities of bedroom techno, painstakingly made as a labour of love, but given pop sensibility with the addition of Esther's breathy ethereal vocals, which work best on the sparser tracks such as 'Wings' and 'Rainfall', but still leaves one yearning for an even more beat-free approach. A grower.
