5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic
I really love this Dvd. Micheal has been a household name for me since the 1980's. My one daughter is now a teenager(15Years)
old and she also liked the songs. When she heard him singing while the Dvd was playing she screamed from the room and asked"Dad who is that man?"She was even more impressed when she heard him singing with Toni Braxton "Stop, look and...

3.0 out of 5 stars Michael sings lead over great guests?? = backwards production
OK....let me start by saying that I really like Micheal McDonald, but not obsessively as it seems most of the other reviewers. I feel he is a great back-up stylist, songwriter and producer. However, I do not care for him as a lead vocalist and consequently, this CD - here's why.

He slurs, mumbles and mostly fails to annunciate consonate sounds in most of...

I really love this Dvd. Micheal has been a household name for me since the 1980's. My one daughter is now a teenager(15Years)
old and she also liked the songs. When she heard him singing while the Dvd was playing she screamed from the room and asked"Dad who is that man?"She was even more impressed when she heard him singing with Toni Braxton "Stop, look and listen..."I had to take out my cd's of him and record it for her. There could have been more songs with Toni.India Arie was also great.Well done for such a young artist. I would'nt mind buying the Motown 2 tribute.
This tribute brings also great memories back with "Since i lost my babe". I lost my wife in a car accident 18 months ago.

Kind regards.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible performances!, April 1, 2009

I was hoping that this Soundstage show would be released on DVD; to learn that three extra tracks will be included made it a definite purchase for me. How cool that the late Billy Preston's work will be included!

I had watched this on Channel 2 one night and wanted to get a copy of it. I was amazed when it became available. The duet with Michael and Toni Braxton is awesome. You will love it.

Really good product. At this point I think it is not necessary to talk a about Mr McDonald's background, so for his fans it is just another good live show. To listen The VOICE and music feeling of Michael is a present from mother nature. Period.

But if you realize that for better performance he has chosen as partners the outstanding voices os India.Arie and Toni Braxton, then we are talking about something really special.

Outstanding.

Sorry for my English. It is the better I can explain myself.

Being a huge Motown fan from the 60's and a Doobie Bros fan from the 70's, Michael McDonald's interest in perpetuating Motown music is, for me, the combined best of both worlds. This is a TV Soundstage performance so I wish it were longer, but the performances were great (a phenomenal, kick-ass female drummer) and lots of super guest artists so I love the DVD. My only complaint is that it's not available in Blu Ray.

If you're a Michael McDonald fan and you like his husky singing voice, I believe you'll really like the hour of music performed on stage on this DVD. It is a DVD I won't get tired of playing over again from time to time. Magnificent!

I saw this when it was live on Soundstage. It is timeless and if you like Motown is a wonderful addition to any collection of Motown music. This man has a great soul.

In this world where the current artists have names I can't even understand and play music that is also way too hot for me, it is great to know that we have MM c continuing to provide a product that is great. Even some of my really hip friends were making positive comments about the album content, musicians and guests. I really have enjoyed the DVD and would recommend it to anyone, if you are a closed fan of Motown music, you may have to buy the CD and play it in your car alone, seems as though someone always joins me from other rooms when I play this.
