I purchased this DVD because I'm a fan of the majority of artists featured on it. I'm their fan because, in addition to putting out quality music, they are activists and use their talents for the good of all. This DVD explored why they got into the hip-hop movement, what it means to them, how it connects them to both humanity and spirit. It is very well done, with a grassroots feel to it. "Soundz of Spirit" shows the flipside to today's hip-hop and underground music scene. There is no flash, no bling-bling, no ballers; just a true love and passion for this thing we call "Hip-hop". If you are an artist, this DVD will motivate you to go even higher in your craft. If you are an activist, it will give you hope in our youth. If you are simply someone who enjoys good music, this will turn you on to new artists that are under the radar, but desere to be heard. "Soundz of Spirit" is destined to become one of my favorites and I hope that it's message will spread around the globe.

This documentary gives u a great deal of info on the positive hip-hop artists that are lacking in rap music today , watch this for a true sence of hip hop culture like KRS- one says Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everyone.

This movie is basically evangelism for hip hop. This is the type of thing people who don't like hip hop need to watch. The mainstream associations that uninformed people make are nowhere to be found here, and there's a wide variety of opinions on a number of issues. Del's on preachiness is a highlight, he's so to the point. All in all two thumbs up.
