5.0 out of 5 stars Recipe for Business Success, May 20, 2010
This review is from: Soup: A Recipe to Nourish Your Team and Culture (Hardcover)
If you have read any of Jon Gordon's book, you will love this one. It is written in the inspirational novel format where a story line is used to develop a very practical business model. When cooking soup, all kinds of ingredients are used but as the book points out, the outcome is determined by the love and inspiration of the person who "stirs the pot". I am extremely thankful that I work for a company that could have been used by Gordon as an almost perfect example of the business model depicted. This is simply a good book that will cause you to think about your current business practices and what they could or should be instead of what they might currently be. "Gymbeaux"

Jon Gordon is inspirational, and provides practical principals that revive your inner spirit. When you get done reading his book, you will have a "Can Do" attitude, and renewed motivation that will be recognized by your clients, staff, and supervisors. This is a must have book on the shelf of every manager, and should be shared with those you mentor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gordon delivers in SOUP!, May 19, 2010

This review is from: Soup: A Recipe to Nourish Your Team and Culture (Hardcover)

"Once again, Jon Gordon delivers. In an engaging, page turning, format, SOUP provide leaders with timeless advice on what matters most- a "how to" on investing and building relationships. At the core of all that we do as leaders, nothing is more important. As Gordon skillfully takes us on a new CEO's journey, we find ourselves being reminded of the critical role executives play in creating "a community" in the workplace. Don't let the title SOUP fool you... You won't put this one down!"

Everyone that works for themselves, a major corporation, or a small company must read this book. I am in the process of developing a leadership program for my current team and this will be a MUST READ for all participants. Don't read this book unless you are ready to experience a life changing event in your life. I can't say enough about how this book helped to get me focused on the things I need to be working on.
It takes people with good positive healthy relationships to build great companies. I realize numbers are important, but where are the numbers generated from? - PEOPLE.

Wow! My first Jon Gordon book and I am impressed! This is truly the 'guts' of how to lay a great business foundation, and go straight up from there. If you are looking for ways to improve your existing business, begin one correctly or rescue one on the brink of disaster - this book is for you. After I finish this review, I am buying 3 more of his books!

Apparently, Jon doesn't know how to write a bad book. Most of us know what we need to do but Jon has a way of making the information look like we are reading it for the first time. I ordered two more to hand out to friends! Randy

Jon Gordon has done it again! Jon has a way of writing simple fictional books that carry a plethora of profound messages. I have used his books in the past with our high school basketball team and have had great success with Jon's materials. Soup will be another book that will be well received by our coaches and athletes because of the critical messages embedded in Jon's story. Great book!
