I am very pleased with this product -- both with the way they have been produced and how they seem to be working.

This is a side-by-side comparison of ten leading omega-3 fish oil supplements: OmegaVia Pharma-Grade Fish Oil, Nutrigold Triple Strength Fish Oil Omega-3 Gold, Garden of Life Minami Nutrition Platinum Omega 3 Plus D3 Formula, Norwegian Gold Ultimate Fish Oils Super Critical Omega, Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega, Omapure Pharmaceutical Grade Omega-3 Fish Oil, Now Ultra Omega-3, Barlean's Ideal 3 Omega, Source Naturals ArcticPure Ultra Potency Fish Oil, and Source Naturals Arctic Pure Omega-3 1125 Fish Oil.

There are three major components of omega-3 in these products: EPA (which is good for your heart, circulatory system, lowering triglycerides, depression and mood orientation, and is a powerful anti-inflammatory for soothing joint pains), DHA (which is good for your mental acuity, or if you are pregnant, nursing an infant, or for children), and "other." Other omega-3s, like DPA and SDA, are types of fatty acids which are easily converted to EPA in the body. In most fish oils, the amount of these other fatty acids is low, but in highly concentrated oils, it can be a significant amount. The important components are EPA and DHA.

BREAKDOWN: Here is a breakdown of these supplements.

I take Omega 3 for Fibromyalgia and joint pain. My doctor recommended at least 2000 MG of EPA a day for inflammation, which is almost impossible to get from most over the counter Omega 3 products. There are those that say 1,500 MG, but that is 2 pills and usually only gets about 300 MG of EPA per serving, (that would be 14 pills to get the amount I need!) the rest being DHA and Omega by products and this is NOT what you need. For inflammation, it is the EPA that counts.

Only 1 gel pill of these contains the Following: 687 EPA, 275 DHA and 163 Other Omega 3's. So I take 3 of these a day and they do wonders for me. Plus there are lots of other benefits. If there is one natural product you should be taking, it is Omega 3. I am a vegetarian, but I still take Omega 3. My body needs it, period and no ALA can give me the amounts I need. DHA is also important for brain and memory function. New research has proven how much we need Omega 3 for optimal health and this is by far the best product I have found to get it.

Nausea and belching - I never had this problem with other brands. But to be fair, I haven't taken fish oil in a few years so these side effects might have more to do with an aging digestive system (I'm in my 50's), than any particular brand or type of fish oil.

the best there is. you look at the actual Omega 3 component of other fish oil out in the market and compare to this one. Well, there is no comparison. milligram for milligram, this is the highest proportion of Omega 3 from total pill weight of all fish oil out there.

I like this brand better than most brands. I am trying one other wild salmon fish oil & then decide which one is the winner! You can take a lot less capsules with this brand if you need a high dosage of omega-3. I like the fact that it is made from salmon but it has been refined to take out any impuritys & concentrated which is good. This is my 2nd favorite fish oil. Please read my reviews for my #1 choice for fish oil so far.
