I was diagnosed with Celiac late in life and so have major damage to my small intestines. Before I found Essential Enzymes my body wasn't able to break down and absorb the nutrients in my food very well. But from the first day I used this product I could tell the difference. I usually take 2-3 pills before eating, depending on how hard the food item is to digest. If I forget, my intestines let me know. This product is the best. And through Amazon, it's very affordable.

It beat another enzyme product in an oatmeal test that I read about in a document assembled by Jon Barron. The oatmeal test is simple: prepare some oatmeal, and place equal amounts (I had about half a cup of oatmeal in each bowl) into two separate bowls. Dump equal amounts of the enzyme supplements you are testing into the bowls (one bowl per supplement). Stir it up, then let it sit for a few minutes. The enzyme supplement which produces oatmeal with a runnier consistency is likely the superior product (don't try and eat the oatmeal with enzymes--I don't think it will taste good).
When I performed this test with this product and an NSI enzyme product, this product made the oatmeal much runnier. It was cool to see the enzymes in action. What is also nice about this product is that it packs more enzyme potential per capsule than the other product, which means this product last longer because it requires a smaller serving size. One more thing--since I've started taking this enzyme supplement, I no longer feel sluggish after my afternoon meals (provided I get enough sleep). And overall, I feel better. Hard to describe, and I know the placebo effect may be occurring, but there you have it.

I began taking this product due to having digestive issues that the doctor could not do anything about. If I ate anything with too much fat in it I would get sick and most of the time when I ate I would feel ill afterward. I began using this product based on the reviews and it works great. I can eat and not feel ill. I can even skip using it for a few days if I need to and still be OK.

I have tried many formulas over the years. This is the one that seems to work consistently. I worked in a health food/supplement store for 6 years so I was privvy to a lot of research about the companies and their products. I would recommend Essential Enzymes by Source Naturals, over anything else.

This product does more than just protein. It works on everything. One warning, it can act as a powerful laxative so don't start off taking more than 1 at a time. My mother had to stop taking it just for that reason, she's 74. I would hate to think of how I could get along without it now. Been using it almost 1 year. I don't have digestion issues. I just heard enzymes were good for weight loss. I take one every day before I go to sleep, & it breaks down the food in your stomach which has helped me to lose 30 lbs in combination w/ eating healthy & exercise too. These are great. There is no question for me that this stuff really works!

I bought them simply because it was suggested for people with digestive issues such as gas and boy did it work...it cut down on the amount of gas tremendously...couldn't believe it! Definitely look into taking a blood food allergy test too because I found out that I was allergic to 4 common foods and when I took them out of my diet, it helped too.

Have acid reflex for years. Take this enzyme with apple cider vinegar at each meal. Problem solved! Got rid of prescription drugs. Price is great compared to local stores.

I have GERD. And with that...i sometimes get indigestion...and other digestive discomfort. This product realyl helps with the absorption and digestion of my everday meals. So along with proper dietary choices, eating at the right times of day, this product really helps! I WILL BUY AGAIN....AND AGAIN.

We take one of these enzymes with each meal or with food and that takes care of any stomach problems. We wouldn't be without them. I even put some in the car in case we have an unplanned meal.
