I started taking these almost 3 months ago hoping to eventually get away from anti-depressants. I have not seen any noticaeble change in my mood. I have been sleeping pretty good (also take something for that). Even though I take something for my sleeping, it hasn't always worked in the past. I do seem to sleep better lately, so maybe it is helping in that regard. I cannot compare it to other brands, as I have not used any others.

If Amazon allowed rating changes, I would increase mine to 4 stars. Since I thought this St. Johns Wort really wasn't helping me, I quit taking it last week. Big mistake!! While, I still don't think it affected my mood when I took it, I suddenly had trouble sleeping last week. When I laid in bed, I felt very anxious and nervous. I had nothing going on that should have made me so worrisome. After a few days, I finally remembered that this problem started when I quit taking the St. Johns Wort. I started taking it again over the weekend, and my sleep is back to normal. I guess since I hadn't skipped it for too long, it affected me again pretty quickly.

I will definitely continue to take this product. I wish it helped in other aspects of my life, but I am happy that it does help me relax at night and sleep. (I would make it 5 stars if it helped my depression/anxiety during the day. Since it doesn't, I give it 4 stars because of the way it helps my mind when I am trying to sleep.)

The bottle says it may take 6-8 weeks to notice an effect. Like the other reviewer, I felt a noticeable life in my overall mood in 2 weeks. I have also been sleeping better and drinking less wine with dinner. I read that SJ'sW has also been used to decrease alcohol consumption and I am a believer. My anxiety has decreased and I am a happier person all around. I have experienced no side effect other than mild upset stomach which can be avoided if taken with food. I was skeptical before I started taking this, but now I am an avid believer.

My 11-year-old takes these (he has OCD, Asperger's Syndrome & Tourette's.) Within 2 weeks we noticed an improvement in his mood & within 6 weeks there was an amazing change in his anxiety, mood, and depression. He is happy most of the time and when things go wrong, he handles them much more easily.

I have been taking St. Johns off and on for about several years now. I will tell you straight up that when i stopped taking then everything went down hill for me as far as my depression and other issues. I just started back again in the New Year to get a grip of myself and deal with all my issues. I take this along with L-TYROSINE and i have noticed a huge difference in me. I am much more focused, no anxiety, sleep like a baby, and really able to get alot of things accomplished. So, this is part of my daily process and i do not leave anywhere without. It does take a while to get into your system which is about a month or so but you will see the difference.

I was taking a different brand before and when those ran out, I didn't get a new bottle for some months and then finally decided to order this since it is a great price. After I started taking it again daily for about a week, I could tell the difference!! Boy, was it a big difference!! I would recommend this to everybody... puts me in a more optimistic mood all around, and there might be some down moments but that's all they are, just moments. I will definitely be buying this brand again and again!!

This product is much stronger than previous versions I've taken and upset my stomach alot. Had to discontinue use and I just ordered a brand new bottle too.

These were for my honey. (I take the extract, so I can adjust the dose -- see my review of that). He's happy, I'm happy, I don't have to add them to the drive-around shopping list. Good stuff, good price.

After going through a lot of reviews i decided to give it a try , i've been taking it for about 3 months now after deciding to quit using prescribed antidepressants, what make me feel very good but i started getting a lot of weight, so i went ahead and got me the ST JONH'S WORT 300mg and it has done nothing for me

i feel the same way i felt before without the antidepressants and sadly i haven't notice any change on my mood, sleeping or stress that is why i give it a very low review , i just ordered the 5 HTP, i really hope this one really works because i need to feel better...Source Naturals St. John's Wort Std Ext 300mg, 240 tablets

I have copied my old review of Spring Valley: Natural St. John's Wort because this product is the same except that it comes in a tablet that is easy to swallow compared to most tablets and it's cheaper. Same effect. Note: Someone before was not that bright and couldn't understand the part about a 150mg vs 300mg dosage. 300mg is the recommend dosage for St. John's wort. Most people take 900mg a day or 300mg 3 times a day. At 150mg that's 2 pills 3 times a day or 6 pills total. With this product it's only 1 pill 3 times a day or 3 pills total. They were angry with me because they wanted to take just 1 pill a day. As far as I know a 900mg dosage does not exist. I always wonder about people who just impulsively buy a supplement without doing any research on their own.

These pills are nice because it only takes one pill for the recommend dosage. I take three at a time rather than one three times daily. It seems to work just as well taking it this way. The 150mg dosage takes 6 pills which is just overkill for me. This will make you bleed more, so be sure to know how that will affect your health or current health problems: ulcers, hemorrhoids,daily aspirin therapy, statins, or MAO inhibitors. I'm not a doctor, but I've read some studies that say St. John's Wort works better than prescription anti-depressants. I'm a big believer in herbal treatments rather than prescriptions, and I would highly recommend this product.

I have been taking St. John Wort for a few months and it does help me to concentrate better in my sermon preparations and have a better natural relaxed sleep.
