Be Careful!,

I like and use other Source Naturals products, so this review is more of a cautionary note than a critique of the product itself. It is certainly not a critique of the company as I am pleased with its products generally. A couple of days after I started taking this, I began having rapid heart palpitations and a spike in blood pressure. The symptoms subsided after I discontinued using the product. To be sure, I repeated the process and the same thing happened. Before purchasing, I researched potential side effects and found nothing concerning the types of symptoms I experienced. I have since done additional research and still have found nothing concerning those symptoms. My experience may be atypical, but I wanted to caution folks about potential side effects which are not reported as a matter of course. The product (rather than the brand) may be good for what it does, but it did not work for me.

Forget about all other products you heard about for memory improvement.
This is the real McCoy. My experience has shown that this product really works. In fact, when my short term memory starts sputtering, I realize that I forgot to take my secret weapon in the morning. Important update 2/8/10: This product no longer contains Leci-PS but a new item called Sharp PS. I can no longer vouch for it's efficacy. In fact, it didn't seem to work as well as before. I have been unable to find the Leci-PS formulation in a soft gel. Now does have a hard pill with what they claim is the Leci-PS additive but it didn't work for me. I found a brand called Stop-aging-now that still has Leci-PS. I'm on my first bottle but so-far so-good (...) Further update 3/18/10: The "Stop aging Product" was not as successful. I have now been trying Algal-900 from CVS that they claim has proven results. It needs to be taken three times a day and there are only 30 soft gels in a package. I'll update again with my results...

Works to elevate my mood,
By Naida L. (Portland, OR, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Source Naturals Phosphatidyl Serine Complex, 500mg, 60 Softgels (Health and Beauty)
I have a history of chronic depression and have tried every antidepressant on the market, all of which pushed me toward suicidal tendencies. So I stopped taking anitdepressants a few years ago and decided I would just always be depressed. I started taking PS for help with memory problems (for which I did not notice a difference) and discovered that it lifted my depression! I used to go to work, come home and land on the couch and stay there until it was time to get up and get ready for work the next day. PS has gotten me off the couch and I am actually DOING things again. I don't know why there isn't information about how it helps in mood regulation. It has been a life saver for me!

Misleading information,
This review is from: Source Naturals Phosphatidyl Serine Complex, 500mg, 60 Softgels (Health and Beauty)
The label on Source Naturals Phosphatidyl Serine Complex says it contains 500 mg. . . Of what? The Source Naturals website lists the primary ingredient as 500 mg of soybean extract, yielding only 100 mg of phosphatidylserine! (plus 50 mg of other phospholipids). The 500 mg on the label is misleading. I thought each capsule contained 500 mg of phosphatidylserine. Not so! It pays to check the fine print.

This product has been written in many medical papers as miracle food for the brain. I've been taking it for months now and I really believe it has worked.

I had no side effects at all from this supplement. It can be hard to know if a supplement is working (at least for me) but my research shows that this is an excellent supplement to deal with stress and to help related to stress with weight loss.
I feel more energetic since starting it and I think that my memory is also a bit better. My weight loss has continued to be 1-2 pounds a week (no increase) but then again, no gaining weight even though I had to stop working out due to bronchitis.
