5.0 out of 5 stars Polycosanol 10 mg + 65 mg CoQ10 + exercise works for me!!
I bought the Polycosanol product with CoQ10, not this one, but the basher reviewer on this product, same brand, didn't relay his personal experience. In my case, my doctor was amazed at the quick drop in my cholesterol after 3 months, said I should keep taking polycosanol because it works for me, and I can now ski without the terrible side effects of statin drugs and eat...

1.0 out of 5 stars Policosanol doesn't work!
Seven independent, well-conducted scientific studies in the U.S., Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, South Africa, and Croatia since 2006 have found policosanol worthless at lowering cholesterol levels. Virtually all of the positive "evidence" for policosanol comes from a single Cuban research group which has a financial stake in the product. Even One-A-Day has given up...

I bought the Polycosanol product with CoQ10, not this one, but the basher reviewer on this product, same brand, didn't relay his personal experience. In my case, my doctor was amazed at the quick drop in my cholesterol after 3 months, said I should keep taking polycosanol because it works for me, and I can now ski without the terrible side effects of statin drugs and eat my favorite grapefruit, not allowed with statins. Check out the tests of 30,000 people on the "Heart Health for Life" website. WebMD says there isn't enough evidence. My successful experience is enough for me!! From what I have read, the polycosanol that works must come from sugarcane which was clearly marked on my bottle. It apparently thins the blood like aspirin also, so cannot take it with such drugs.

5.0 out of 5 stars I bought this product for my mom, April 30, 2010

Since my mom started taking the artichoke extract and policosanol her total cholesterol is down from 314 in Jan, to 275 last week.(April) Her Triglycerides went from 243 to 153, her LDL went from 213 to 179. She can not take statins, so we are hoping these products will continue to lower her numbers!
