Pycnogenol is rich in proanthocyanidins, a special class of water-soluble antioxidant flavonoids, which are excellent free radical scavengers. Proanthocyanidins are believed to play an important role in maintaining good health (These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Expensive...,

Not sure about this one. There is some body of evidence that it is a killer anti oxidant. It is pretty expensive for the little you get and cannot really couch for noticeable changes in any blood work as a result. After two months I opted out of adding this to my vitamin regime.
