5.0 out of 5 stars Herbal Oil for many uses
By accident, I heard someone saying that this was an excellent anti-biotic. I bought it and found that to be true. I am very resistant to medical anti-biotics. This: Source Naturals Wellness Oil of Oregano , 1 fl oz (29.57 ml) has proven to be a God-send. The negatives: smells bad but I use it only at night; burns for awhile after rubbing on the skin (not badly)...

2.0 out of 5 stars Possible Good Product but Bad Packaging
When I received this product it was in a securely taped shut bag made of bubblewrap. The minute I opened the bag there was a strong smell of Oregano. The bottle itself reeked of oregano as well. Although the picture shows the product with a dropper, presumably rubber, which it turned out to be, I would have assumed that in shipping there would be a solid top to seal the...

(REAL NAME)
By accident, I heard someone saying that this was an excellent anti-biotic. I bought it and found that to be true. I am very resistant to medical anti-biotics. This: Source Naturals Wellness Oil of Oregano , 1 fl oz (29.57 ml) has proven to be a God-send. The negatives: smells bad but I use it only at night; burns for awhile after rubbing on the skin (not badly). (Keep your fingers that have the Oil on them away from sensitive areas: eyes, nose, etc.) I cannot use it in a drink as I cannot stand the smell that close to my nose. The positives: as stated -- excellent antibiotic. I take it when I feel rundown (my system's signal that I am catching something). Sometimes I need to take it for a couple of days (few drops rubbed into skin -- not the same place each time). Whether I am catching a flu or infection, it takes care of it. I rarely get sick or get infections any longer. I used to catch everything that went around and many infections (repeated staph that antibiotics would not help). I do not take it all the time, only as needed. I feel much better all of the time, now. Also, I have a Chihuahua who gets repeated ear infections. The vet prescribed antibiotics several times and has suggested surgery. I use this by rubbing it into the skin next to the ears, usually twice per week and he becomes his usual perky, friendly self again, driving me to wits end with his little "happy dance" to get me to hold him so he can wear his tongue off licking my hands! Fleas and mites don't seem to like this either but the only evidence I have of that is not finding any on my dogs, upon which I use this occasionally. Otherwise, they continually pick up something when we go on walks. I want to stress that I use this on my dogs and myself only occasionally.

The money that I spend on this product saves a lot in doctor's office fees & pharmacy fees.

I have not used Oil of Oregano from another manufacturer so cannot testify as to their credibility. I cannot say enough praise for this company and their Oil of Oregano. I have gone through two of the bottles in 2 years time. I used it more frequently in the beginning. I do not have to use it as often, now.

5.0 out of 5 stars UPDATE!, March 12, 2010

This review is from: Source Naturals Wellness Oil of Oregano, 1 Ounce (Health and Beauty)
June 19, 2011 - a friend came back from overseas from a trip with her fiance, I watched their dog. Well, she came back with something realllly bad, sore throat, horrible cough, stuffed up, BAD. I had been visiting with her when she got back before she started showing symptoms but was obviously contagious. I started to get the symptoms and have been taking oil of oregano, about three drops twice a day and instead of getting full blown sick, the symptoms went away! No sore throat and feeling fine. This is great stuff! Oh and a friend whose daughter gets cold sores says a touch of this (it DOES BURN LIKE CRAZY she said) a couple times a day and within a day or two, it's gone. I can only go by what she's saying, but doesn't surprise me. This is a STAPLE in my medicine cabinet!

I bought oil of oregano because of what I read online and thought would be good to keep around to ward off colds, etc. I bought this brand specifically because of reviews and product details. Came in handy when someone around me was sick and I started feeling like I was getting it. Put a few drops in about 8 oz of water and symptoms stopped. I can't prove was this, but this stuff is definitely potent! I got a little bit of it full strength on my skin and it burned! You will want to drink a lot of water afterwards. An fyi online, I read that this MAY possibly block iron absorption, so if you take it regularly, particularly every day, something you may want to consider or look into, particularly if you don't get much iron.

I work in an elementary school and, as you know, kids and germs go hand to hand. Well, I struggle with upper respiratory infections, sore throats and coughs every year from the challenging environment. Last year was the first that I didn't get sick because I used the drops EVERY time I felt something coming on and repeated it that day.

Burns when it goes down and is very aromatic at first but the results are worth it (doesn't burn as bad as another I'd tried). The active ingredient is Carvacrol and DON'T buy ANY brand of oregano oil that doesn't state the percentage of it on the label.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible, June 23, 2011

I have had this long enough to be blown away! and yet can't wait to see what else we can use it on in the future!!! so far...

It worked for a chigger bite on my daughters leg...something that can take weeks to heal, and I have tried everything but never found anything to help. But it scabbed over a day after putting a drop of this on it.

We have also found out it is helping our food sensitivities. So we are experimenting and going to use it daily for about a month. 3 drops under the tongue 3-5 times a day with a llllllot of water, (this takes some determination...it is very strong). After about a month, we will taper off and see if the effect is long term, or only while taking it and will post here what we found...so far it's awesome!

Of all the herbs I have tried over the years, I have never seen anything so strong and effective. I look forward to seeing what else this will heal. The internet says it is good for eliminating bad bacteria, parasites, viruses and anti-fungal.

One website I just read said someone ran an experiment to test if it killed all bacteria or just the bad ones. They said they mixed this in with the yogurt starter they used, then used it to make their yogurt as usual. Said it turned out to be a savory yogurt that in all respects developed normally and appeared to have active cultures...but one difference, the yogurt lasted for a month in her fridge. That would be an interesting experiment to duplicate and show that this is then far superior to any drug which kills all good and bad bacteria.

Oh and one last thing...just for the fun of it we put 2 drops in a batch of spaghetti...it tasted fantastic, our new not so secret ingredient!

I've been using Oil of Oregano for some time now, and this product works great. For those that are not aware of its benefits, Oil of Oregano is anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal. It can be used topically or internally... for a variety of ailments. Would definitely recommend to anyone that wants a bit more natural means of handling everyday ailments. (Common cold, allergies, etc.)

Good quality product for immune support! We get healthy naturally from sore throats & common colds. A few drops in water can relieve the foggy, headache-y feel within minutes, drug-free. Also can be used effectively with a vaporizer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Honetsly Worked for Me, May 12, 2011

This review is from: Source Naturals Wellness Oil of Oregano, 1 Ounce (Health and Beauty)
I read the other reviews and decided to give it a try. I am a generally healthy female but I suffer from chronic bouts of strep throat at least 3-4 times a year (thanks to my kids:-)Being tired of going to the doctor, the additional cost, and taking time off from work for it, I tried this when I felt the symptoms start and WOW!! After 4 days of taking Wellness Oil of Oregano my symptoms are gone and haven't come back!!! I take it for maintenace now, 3-4x a week, and I feel great. I put 2-4 drops in a bottle of water or liquid and it goes down just fine (just makes the drink spicy.) Burping tasted like oregano, but that was just for the first few days for me.

My kids (pre-K) suffer from frequent sinus infections so I started giving them 1 drop in a spoonful of honey 2x a week. We all seem to be doing fine and have gone 30 days without any of us having to visit the doctor for these recurring issues. I pray it keeps up!!

I tried this to clear up a long-standing pneumonic condition and it worked quickly and completely by adding a few drops to a beverage once a day. Since then I have used it topically on several skin conditions and it totally destroyed whatever infective agents caused them. Make me smell like a pizza but well worth it.

Though it can't completely replace my Zyrtec, this oregano oil has been an invaluable addition to my daily allergy regimen. I generally have a very hard time during the spring with pollen and all, and have always suffered from severe migraines especially then. But adding oregano oil to my routine has helped tremendously and made pollen season much more bearable. :)

I have chronic asthma requiring medication twice a day. I used this product and did not use my asthma medications. I am amazed. I am a believer of this product and want to share my experience. I have never posted a review on Amazon but felt compelled to do so.
