4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Addition to Any Recruiter/Sourcer's Toolbox, July 12, 2009
This review is from: The Sourcer's Playbook (Paperback)
Whether or not you're a Sourcer that's just getting started or a Recruiter that's been in the industry for years, I think you'll find The Sourcer's Playbook a solid addition to your recruiting toolbox.

Step-by-step practices ranging from complete search engine overviews to effective ways to work with new media, social networks and the blogosphere keep you moving through this well authored book at a very comfortable speed. With a unique visual style, Geoff Peterson has presented this vital information in a fun and easily digestible format.

A few points worth mentioning would be Geoff's breakdown of social bookmarking sites like Diigo and Technorati - a great (and quick) review for those behind the curve on social bookmarking.
Also something I suspect many may enjoy are the author's recommended FireFox add-ons and quick customizations. Having been the long running browser of choice for many sourcers and recruiters this review of "must haves" for FireFox is a jump start for anyone looking to squeeze just a bit more sourcing power out of their web time.

With additional breakdowns of 3rd party sites, matching platforms, and social networking for recruiting, these 5 simple chapters could make the difference in your next hiring initiative - if not the rest of them.

5.0 out of 5 stars I give "The Sourcers Playbook" my strongest recommendation, June 29, 2009
This review is from: The Sourcer's Playbook (Paperback)
I was fortunate enough to be among the first to review this work prior to its release here on Amazon. My thoughts? BUY IT! Buy it now! Allow me to explain...

I have over a decade of experience conducting internet research, competitive intelligence and training Recruiters on internet research techniques inside Microsoft, Google, Siemens, MCI and a string of startup companies. As such, I have been privy to several trends, tools and tech that all Sourcers should be leveraging in their daily routine. As I read through THE SOURCERS PLAYBOOK, I realized that Geoff Peterson had discussed the most relevant tools and more profitable techniques in a clear, concise and casual manner. Furthermore, the images supported are presented so well that everyone from novice to expert can immediately "get it" and put into action.

I give The Sourcers Playbook my strongest recommendation.
