This review by one of Alexander's best biographers of primary sources and top-tier modern commentaries (such as from Bosworth, Hammond, Badian, Tarn, etc.) is excellent, and I would recommend it to any student of Alexander. However, if you're looking for an introductory text, or just some light reading on the subject, steer clear.
