This report summarizes the developments in radiation science in the years leading up to the new millennium, drawn on the main conclusion of the scientific assessments of the United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effect of Atomic Radiation (UNSCEAR). This 2-volume set discusses different sources of and the consequences of exposure to radiation and the results of epidemiological studies. This report is recommended to government officials, scientists, medical specialists and others who are concerned about the possible hazards of natural and man-made sources of radiation.
