Nice Selection,

This is a nice selection of Sousa music. While I much prefer a military band to play these works, this orchestra does a spirited job. Under Keith Brian the interpretations are inspired. There is also a lot of material not often played, including many overtures, dances, novelties, etc. Sousa should be remembered for far more besides his many excellent marches. His works spanned the entire globe of music, and he was a far more versatile composer than posterity has given him credit for. This excellent budget series by Naxos deserves a lot of credit for putting on these many fine CDs of of his works.

Another wonderful, stimulating march CD with the Razumovsky Symphony Orchestra creating the memorable music and sounds that we know and love so well. This is a great CD and should be in your library - would be good to play during a cold, dreary day. You would warm up soon enough and be back on track with aliveness and prepared to chase the depressing weather over to the neighboring state. A good one!
