These are propaganda films in a pure and tragic sense: They promote and inspire belief in a system that ultimately could not work. For any serious student of history or politics, knowing the viewpoint of the other side is essential to fully understand what is truly going on - these films are a rare look at that "other side."

Made in 1978, this film analyzes the apartheid system in South Africa from a communist perspective. The violence and horror of the system are exposed through amazingly brutal and graphic footage. The scope of the film is historical, explaining the development of a class system built on race from the initial white "invasion" 300 years ago.

Included is one black activist's memory of Nelson Mandela, as well as reminiscences of the 1960s activism documented with authentic footage from that period. Mandela is now free, but this film does much to address the barbarism of South Africa's system. It is told from a pro-communist perspective.

Note: These films were produced by Soviet filmmakers under the control and supervision of the Soviet government. They is being made available on home video in the United States through an arrangement with The Society for Cultural Relations, U.S./U.S.S.R. - a non-profit group established by the Soviet and the American people after World War II. These films may be considered a work of Soviet Propaganda.

Many of the films are one-of-a-kind, exported from the Soviet Union to the United States in various conditions. Each film is presented in its entirety, without editing. The producers of this video ask you to "forgive the blemishes in return for the opportunity to view rare historical programming."
