I listen to a lot of records, working at a radio station, and this stood out as awesome. David is totally honest and his songs are great. It reminds me of John Vanderslice, dan bern, and a bit of beat poets and bukowski. This cd will not disappoint. I think david is way better than brighteyes, who i find to be cliche. this cd has the best production of all of his releases so far and a lot of solid songs.

i love this album! dondero's voice sounds very similar to conor oberst's (of bright eyes) but his songs are much sweeter, subtler, and less drepressing than oberst's. nicely evocative of southern/folk music without being "twangy."

This cd is half poetry half interesting beats. I love finding independent artists who have something really original to convey, and David Dondero is definitely one of them. For anyone who's looking for that new cd to play over and over again, I recommend giving this one a try!
