Footprint South India
Other guidebooks by Lonely Planet and Rough Guide are very good, but I have found the Footprint guides to be the best.

south india, 3rd footprint travel guides
very disappointing. the only information in this book is about temples. i wanted to learn what else south india has to offer and came up empty.
