Editorial Reviews

Not exactly the gift pack to gently introduce South Park virgins to the joys of this TV series, the fourth set functions better as a present for devoted fans. It kicks off with "Flashbacks," an episode retracing many of the early classic episodes--with surprise twists, of course, before celebrating South Park during the summer, complete with fireworks and kiddie pee-pee swimming pools. Volume 11 captures the day the Sundance Film Festival came to South Park in "Chef's Salty Chocolate Balls," complete with Hollywood's short attention spans and faux intellectualism, while "Chicken Pox" is an unbelievably gross yet very funny episode dealing in the boys' parents' attempts at getting them chicken pox for their own health. To round out this lovely set are "Roger Ebert Should Lay Off the Fatty Foods"--a tired title for a somewhat tired episode--and "Clubhouses," the much more daring and hilarious of the two in which ideas of love, attraction, marriage, and divorce are all sharply parodied. A solid gift pack with classic South Park schtick. --Karen K. Hugg

5.0 out of 5 stars this is the greatest show ever!, June 14, 1999
By
This review is from: South Park - Gift Pack 4 (Volumes 10-12) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
i personally love this show, it is so funny! this set is one of the best in my opinion. it has alot of very funny and memorable episodes in it. it starts out with flash back, if your not a true fan and havent seen all the old episodes i dont recomend this to you, it refers to alot of the old classics, the second is summer sucks, this episode shows south park at its best! it is south park in the summer! some of the better scenes are when mr hat goes missing and we learn pip's parents are dead! a must see. the next video has chef's salty chocolate ball's, just hearing the name is enough to make you buy it! it also has mr hankeys triumphant return. the next is chicken pox, this is very funny, you learn the day to day life of outr dear little friend kenny, who is extremely poor. the next set is roger ebert should lay off the fatty foods, this has to deal with them going to a planatarium that tries to hypnotize people and cartman in a cheesy poof commercial! last is club houses, were the boys build rival clubhouses, stan builds his to play truth or dare. it has alot to do with the ongoing relationship between stan and wendy, and stans parents get a divorce!

i recomend to every one, except children

"i love cheesy poofs!"

5.0 out of 5 stars Title For My Review, April 24, 2000
This review is from: South Park - Gift Pack 4 (Volumes 10-12) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I always keep up with buying the South Park videos, but it's not just for the episodes. It's for the hysterical introductions by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. C'mon, tell me, what's not funny about a pig eating bacon? (Wow! Macon's really takin' to the bacon if I'm not mistaken!) Or kicking the beloved Indian Companion? Or the dog 'Scratch' constantly changing? Or throwing a ninja start at a senior citizen? Well, I guess that last one doesn't sound too funny, but believe me it is when you actually see it happen.
