This Full/Queen Bookcase Headboard with its pure black finish has simple and elegant lines. The side storage can be placed on the left or right of the bed during assembly. This bookcase headboard is made of recycled CARB compliant particle panels. It has to be assembled by two adults. Measures 64 inches wide by 9 inches deep by 40 inches high. This is a great headboard! It's not perfect, but works well for what I was looking for. Right now, I have a bed that sits directly on the floor with a box-spring and mattress. Since this headboard is made for a platform bed, it works perfectly with my set up. Eventually, I'll be getting the matching platform frame. For the most part, it was easy to put together with an additional set of hands and turned out quite sturdy. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that a few pieces aren't exactly flush once put together (but barely noticeable), and there was a small ding on one of the boards (but again, barely noticable). I would definitely recommend this headboard. It's nice to have the extra storage and a place for my alarm clock and "at night" reading.

It took a bit of work to put together but fortunately I have experience with Ikea furniture and this was similar. I didn't purchase with bed frame because I wanted to use existing metal frame. I had to drill new holes to make it fit. Because I used a standard box spring and mattress part of the head board gets covered by the bed. That means I can't do the fun decorative pillow thing without completely covering the headboard. That was a disappointment. The lines are clean and contemporary and I like the idea of the shelving so the concept is good. Delivery was prompt and package was complete. So, just be aware of what you are wanting and what this can deliver.

This item took 3 weeks to arrive from the ordering date, thus the 4 stars. Otherwise the item looks great in my bedroom. Shouldn't take long to build this item. However Step 5 where you attach the legs to the back panel is misleading... ready head on the directions to build the headboard correctly. Looks great and is very useful as a head board. I would buy this again.
