The platform bed’s design accommodates either a 54-inch full or 60-inch queen mattress. With its lustrous pure black finish and low height, the platform frame suits contemporary and classical interior design motifs alike. The bed frame not only provides a supportive, stylish base to set a mattress upon, but it also offers two drawers inside the platform for stowing pajamas, an extra blanket, or pillow shams.
The platform frame is constructed out of laminated engineered wood and completely recycled fibers. Each drawer opens with a pull to its metal handle, rolling with ease on the metal tracks. To ensure safe drawer opening and closing, the slides come equipped with dampers and stops. The platform frame fits together with a matching headboard, available for additional purchase, along with additional Step One collection furniture pieces. Likewise, the bed frame requires the separate acquisition of a mattress. The bed frame arrives shrink-wrapped and ready for adult home assembly. In the event of defective parts or workmanship, South Shore offers a limited five-year warranty after online product registration. The bed frame measures 80-1/2 inches long by 61-4/5 inches wide by 9 inches high and weighs 136 pounds.

This full/queen platform bed with its pure Black smooth finish has a timeless look and blends easily in any decor. It provides storage with two large drawers, one on each side, without handles. Drawers have full extension metal glides for easy access. This bed fits full or queen size mattress and box spring is not required. When used with a full matress, a fringe of the Black finished top surface will be visible on each side and at the foot of the mattress. This bed is made of recycled CARB compliant particle pannels. It has to be assembled by two adults. Measures 62 inches wide by 81 inches deep by 9 inches high. It is delivered in one box measuring 88 inches by 22 inches by 5,5 inches and weights 138 pounds. I have had this product for a week now and am very happy with it. We have been looking for a long time for a platform bed with drawers and most of the contemporary sleek designs would costs in the thousands. And honestly we like the look and where the drawers were located on this bed the best. We were definitely concerned about the quality of the bed, understanding the price we took a chance and bought the bed. We couldn't be happier. It arrived sooner then expected and we built it in that same day. I would definitely suggest taking your time when building it. I have learned from past experience that anything made from particle board and not solid woods you only have one chance to get it right. I build it slowly and with now problems. The beds has been very sturdy and solid. The corners are sharp, but they are corners it comes with the look. We haven't even been close to bumping into them. We love it and are very happy with our choice in this bed.

*IMPORTANT BUILDING TIP*: The metal rails for the drawers are attached and need to be seperated. The instructions only show you a picture of the rails being seperated, but they don't tell you why. If you don't seperate the metal rails you will believe you are missing a piece. One of the reviewers believed he received a defective frame twice, but he didn't know the rails were connected.
If you have a box spring your bed will be waist high and it will not look like the picture if you have the headboard. The picture they use only has a matress and not a box spring. I build a lot of furniture and I can honestly say that the instructions they provide are very confusing, but for the price its worth it. The only thing I don't like is that there is nothing to hold the bed in place on the frame. If you bump into the bed it will slide on the platform . Other than that I really do like this frame and would recomend it.

i don't see what the problem is with this bed frame. it went together in about two hours at a casual pace. used a little gorilla glue from the advice of another review. nice bed,. drawers are silent and sturdy i would recommend for the price
