Not sure why all the reviews are bad...,

I was a little wary about purchasing this item because so many of the reviews were bad, stating things like pieces arrived broken and that the instructions were terrible. Unfortunately I didn't have a lot of money to spend and i needed a dresser around 52" wide so my options were limited.
When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised and it just got better as the night went on. It did take my husband and I about 2 hours to put it together, but that's just because there were a lot of little parts to hold things together, which in my experience is a good thing, because it makes the piece of furniture more secure. The directions were not hard to understand either. Everyone keeps saying they made no sense, but we understood them just fine and had no problems along the way. Even the hardware was packaged conveniently. There was a seperate baggy for each drawer with the hardware you needed, and the rest of the hardware was seperated by which parts of the dresser it was needed for. It looks fantastic, it's very sturdy (all drawers are full and our 42" tv is sitting on top) and the drawers glide smoothly. If you're considering this item, don't let the bad reviews weigh too heavily on your decision. I'm very picky about my "high-ticket" purchases and I am incredibly pleased with this item.

The dresser shown in picture is not ~quite~ what I received. My side walls are not arched like the picture. The item was also shipped missing one set of drawer slides. I called the manufacturer and it was VERY easy to get the missing parts shipped to me.
Quality: The items and quality are comparable to the price you pay. My dresser is a medium brown color. The particleboard drawer bottoms are a laminate light pine color. The inside face of the drawers are unfinished. It feels solid and should last a while. Assembly in General: I have assembled a modest amount of furniture in my day. This dresser was comparable in time and difficulty to any IKEA or Target furniture one would buy. It took me around 2-3 hours and I was able to do it without any help. I found it weird that the assembly instructions had me doing one item at a time in a piece-meal fashion (insert 2 bolts into all 6 drawers. Now insert 4 bolts into this wall. Now go back to the drawers and insert 4 more bolts. Now go back to other dresser wall piece and insert 4 more bolts...) It took up a lot of space to accomplish this. Items in particular to consider: 1. I am not a fan of the plastic drawer slides. There seems to be an unnecessary amount of friction with the plastic. With dresser fully assembled but empty, I pulled a drawer out and there was enough friction to pull one side of the dresser with it. Once clothes were in and items on top of dresser, this is no longer an issue but it still takes what I consider an unnecessary amount of pulling force. I looked into replacing the plastic with some metal ones. It would require shimming out the outside perimeter due to front trim design AND the cost for metal slides would be close to half the cost I paid for dresser. 2. A bunch of screws were shipped with the dresser. If you follow the instructions exactly, there is no use for these screws. However, there are pre-drilled spots all over the dresser shell, drawers, and hardware to use these screws and it would likely make the overall unit more sturdy and last longer. They just don't instruct you to use them.

Assembly Required!!,
This review is from: South Shore Furniture Jumper Collection Double Dresser with 6 Drawers, Classic Cherry (Kitchen)
The dresser is adorable and it arrived in fine shape, however it said some assembly required.
You had better have someone very handy there when you open the box. My brother in law who is the best at most projects said on a scale of 1 to 10, this was close to a 10, mostly because the instructions were horrible. It also came with additional instructions added when shipped. He used the pictures from the instructions as a guide. The product states a 5 year warranty and I know thanks to my brother in law I won't have any worries. It is nice, but if you don't want to build your own dresser then you better not buy this one!!
