I had these two albums back in the 70's and I've been looking for them on CD forever. This is two of my favorite Hoyt Axton albums. Hoyt was a great songwriter and has the extensive catalog to prove it. He has many other great albums too but these two were my favorite. They are on the AM Years collection but it is hard to find and expensive if you do. Do yourself a favor and get turned on to Hoyt Axton.

Loves this compilation! Two of my favorite albums on the same CD. Hoyt Axton, singer, songwriter, movie and TV star, Lives on. The man comes from nashville royalty, his mom Mae wrote Heartbreak Hotel for elvis. and his body of work eclipsed hers. This CD was one of those where trying to pick a favorite song is impossible. I recommend this CD most highly. Tom

This collection contains many of my favorite songs by him.

Truly an amazing voice and songwriter.

I miss Hoyt Axton. It is sad that he died relatively young. I have a number of scratchy LP's. It was great to get this CD with two albums. Southbound is better, but both are good.

Yhis is a good CD, for those who like Hoyt, although it did not have the song I was looking for...Mountain Right.

While I would not consider myself a fan of "Country Western" music. I am a long time fan of the late Hoyt Axton and was lucky enough to see him perform at the Crazy Horse Saloon in Santa Ana California. Lucky me, the Crazy Horse didn't hold more than 200 people and our table was so close I could have reached out and shaken his hand. His music has always touched my soul and this CD has 25 great, clean, crisp tracks.

I already had Hoyt's "The A&M Years", and did not realize that it constituted exactly the two albums Southbound and Fearless. My bad. But when I went to load it into iTunes, the album title came up as "The A&M Years", and then I checked and, sure enough, this CD is identical, just has a different name and cover. If you don't already have The A&M Years, this is a good buy for a couple of Hoyt's better albums, IMHO. Southbound, Snowblind Friend and Road Songs are my favorite of Hoyt's work. Wish he was still here to give us more!
