Floating glass panels are held in place by a brushed nickel base that houses up to 3 cans of FireGlo gel fuel that output up to 3000 BTU each. The glass panels provide an unobstructed view of the magnificent flame while adding a modern loft appearance. The gel fuel can be replaced with decorative pillar candles when you don't want so much heat by using the included snuffer cover. This is a very substantial and sleek/modern fireplace. It arrived well wrapped and protected. It is heavy, about 50lbs and not very easy to move from one location to another due to its design; I put it on a rug to slide to different locations. The "Real Flame" fuel does indeed burn close to 3 hours. The glass only gets hot right where the flames are and just above so no need to worry about the outer edges or those edges near the floor causing heat damage. Very nice if this suites your style. I assembled by myself, but with the heavy pieces of glass a 2nd person is helpful. I put decorative cylinder candles over the provided canister holder cover when not using as a fireplace.

I have been looking for a 'portable' fireplace that would fit (size and design) the decor of my home. I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem on Amazon. This piece is absolutely perfect and I could not beat the price or versatility (love the idea of using candles in lieu of gel canisters). As one reviewer noted, the piece is heavy and does not lend itself to be easily transported to a new location but I've come up with an idea to solve this - a wood base (channel on all sides) on wheels (hidden) that this fireplace can sit on.

Sooo thrilled I purchased this! It is the perfect fireplace for any loft or modern condo/home. It is much larger than I expected (the glass is very wide and tall) so if you are looking to place this on a table top or anything, it is better placed directly on the floor. Very chic and it actually heats the space up a good 8-10 degrees...I sometimes open windows and keep this on for ambience when I throw parties. Just lovely!

HUGE.
