To truly appreciate todays' Southern Gospel, one must listen to and respect the 'founders' of the art. This CD set (there is a companion Vol.1) does an excellent job of bringing back many beloved standards! The audio quality is admirable, especially considering the age of many of these original recordings. The only potential downside is with songs that were covered by several Artists;the selected version is not necessarily the version you remember and loved so well. Overall, if you are a true lover of this musical style, this collection delivers many "goose-bumpy" moments, during which your spirit will soar!

Enjoyable selection of songs,some of these songs are hard to find.Clear recording.Good quality CD.The one song #14 "I Bowed on my knees" preformed by Singing Americans is a nice song, but I didn't care for the presentation.
