Firetrail
This wonderfully researched biography of a little-known Confederate general is an excellent tool for anyone interested in South Carolina history before, during and after the War Between the States. I found the section on the Carolina Campaign especially interesting because that is where my novel, "Firetrail," is set, and the protagonist is an officer in Butler's cavalry. This readable book brought out many details of the man's life and Confederate service that I did not find elsewhere. |
