I used to subscribe to the annual recipe book Southern Living put out each year before anything could be found online. I must have 9 or 10 of them. The 1990 year was the best one ever. The Chicken and Sausage Gumbo is to die for and I have been making it for my family for all these years. I took the cookbook to my aunt's house whom I hadn't seen in many years. She was making notes of recipes to copy out of that cookbook. So I bought her one for her own.

I too love the Chicken and Sausage Gumbo recipe in the 1990 Southern Living Cookbook....Friend of mine used this recipe and it has become the only gumbo recipe I have used for 20 years now....It is the BEST!....I add shrimp, crawfish and oysters at times too....
