Great cookbook,

This review is from: Southern Living Cookbook for Two (Hardcover)
This is a great cookbook for newlyweds but also is great for retirees! The recipes always taste great and the best part is there are not a lot of ingredients for most of the recipes. The basis of the book is southern cooking, but unlike a lot of older southern recipes, many of these can be prepared quickly. After years of raising a family and providing heavy meals for them, I am enjoying having great meals but not spending hours in the kitchen------more time for enjoying "hubby" in our retirement years, and of course Grandchildren!!!

Cooking for Two is Difficult,

This review is from: Southern Living Cookbook for Two (Hardcover)
Southern Living's COOKBOOK FOR TWO cuts the ingredient amounts down to size for small meals. This is difficult for empty nestors, but the book retains many old family favorites.
The meal plans do tend to be a bit on the formal side--a trait of all Southern Living books. Plain old kitchen china doesn't spoil the tast of these recipes. Might want to consider some subtitutions to cut fat and calorie content for modern healthful living. Nash Black, author of SINS OF THE FATHERS.
