4.0 out of 5 stars good value
I purchased this umbrella for my balcony, which has limited space. The nature of this umbrella allows it to fold completely up and out of the way. Then open and extend out over the sitting area. Having the offset post is perfect for this.
The umbrella works great for shade, but I am not sure how well it would do for shelter from the rain. Also, it is very...

3.0 out of 5 stars offset umbrella
Umbrella works well. After <1 month the center light filled with water and failed. The small top connects to the framework with screws and washers. After some wind over the last week I opened the umbrella and the fabric had pulled off one of the connection points. On further examination I found that this particular connection is missing the washer and it allowed the...

Also, it is very susceptible to wind, even a small breeze starts it swinging around a significantly. To help with this problem, I have installed small hooks under the four corners of the canopy, into the metal bars, so that twine can be used to tie down the umbrella. Kind of like a tarp, or tent with a rain fly. This really helps to stabilize it in the wind. Without the tie downs, you will surely come home to find your umbrella bent and damaged if you leave it open, and a wind picks up.

The lights are very nice and function well. The crank and tilt adjustments work very well also.

Overall, this is pretty high tech, with the solar panel, led lights, and mechanical opener. Although it is not cheaply made... it is still very light weight material, and relatively fragile.

After some wind over the last week I opened the umbrella and the fabric had pulled off one of the connection points. On further examination I found that this particular connection is missing the washer and it allowed the fabric to tear away from the framework. Am going to try to contact company or Amazon about problems.
