This review is from: Southern Songbook (Audio CD)
"Southern Songbook" is an historic C.D. The last recording by the amazing Carter Sisters, Helen, and Anita, minus June. That said, Jacky Jack is an amazingly different, totaaly individual performer. Love his songs about the South.Still, there is just something so unique to his writing, playing, and singing.I saw one of his shows in North Carolina and was so blown away by his humour, pathos, and superb musicianship. The best song on this C.D. is "Don't Rize Above Your Razin." Obviously, Jack's "razin'" insinuates and weaves itself through his magnificently flawed voice, and wonderful lyrics.Jacky Jack is a modern Southern Oracle.
