Biography

There’s something almost intangible about a band with strong chemistry. When the guitarists vibe off each other just right, the bassist is lock in step with the drummer, the music almost transcends the musicians. And when the vocalist is feeding off the power of the other players, almost anything is possible. It’s something Sevendust learned early in their career when guitarist ... I love it. I enjoy many styles of rock/metal/alt. what-have you. This package comes with a full length cd (live concert). It also comes with the same material on dvd. Really rocks if you have a surround sound system. Bottom line here is if you don't like acoustic music it's not for you. Definetly check out there new studio album "NEXT". There new album and "SEASONS" are two of my favorites from them, although i can't really pick just one. They all have that special something about them.

4.0 out of 5 stars I have a new found enthusiasm... July 30, 2004
Format:Audio CD
I've always liked Sevendust since their first album. I've faltered in my fan tributes lately though. I only just got Animosity and I have yet to listen to Seasons.

When I first got this newest release, I listened to the CD about 7-8 times before I popped in the DVD. I'll have to say that these guys transform their heavy feel into something more using their acoustic instruments. Don't get me wrong, the heavy songs are still heavy...the basslines keep it that way. But there are so many more notes that you experience

I just finished watching their performance on the DVD and I was very impressed. Having only seen short clips of them live, I had very little to go by in regards to the dynamic of the band. Lajon expresses his emotions through his vocals. His lyrics are very powerful and he backs them up with his delivery, even in this toned down set.

So, I gave it 4 stars for 3 reasons. On one song he is singing the chorus beautifully, but he ruins the flow by yelling out "yall like that?". On 'Hurt' the lyrics are a bit mixed up, maybe on purpose, but that also took me out of the experience. Also there are no extras on the DVD.

All in all it is a great set and I recommend it to any 7D fan or anyone who thinks they might be. It is a great addition to your 7D collection as well as an initial introduction to the band from Atlanta, GA.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dang...Thats some talent! April 23, 2005
Format:Audio CD
I havent even heard the entire album, but from the 8 tracks ive heard, i know this is good! When i first saw "Rumblefish" was on this album, i was like... "How in the hell are they gunna do that w/ acoustic guitars?". I heard it, and i was amazed! I loved the NIN cover (well...although ive only heard 1 song from them- not even this one). This album only proves how much talent Sevendust has, and its good that they finnaly released some sort of live CD. This CD is best when you feel like relaxing, but listening to Sevendust!

This is an interesting set put out by Sevendust. This was an excellent job at packaging (cd pick, post cards, DVD/Cd) and truely a fans pack. It was interesting to here sevendust as a stripped down version of itself, but not bad. This may have stemmed from the success of Angel's son, but also was a way for the band to showcase not only being a loud, hard pounding rock band, but also a great songwriting band, allowing the melody and vocals stand out and take shape without the loudness. Godsmack did a similar thing around the same time. I must say it took me a few time to adjust to tis album, but I do enjoy it now. But, as a warning for the person expecting to hear the Rock they expect from Sevendust, this will not be your collection. I would recommend the Greatest Hits Cd that came out Last year if you wan the rock versions. I really with they would come out with a regular Live CD, I have seen them live 3 times, and they are awesome, and it would be great to have that captured on CD.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hard-Rock's Best Live Band Goes Acoustic May 26, 2004
Format:Audio CD
Last fall, Sevendust did their own acoustic tour in anitcipation for their fourth studio album 'Seasons.' If you ever watched the companion DVD to that album, you would remember the band talking about how much they enjoyed the experience and what little surprises came out of the mix. Eight months later, the live show has finally been released. Personally, I have always wanted Sevendust to release a live album, and when I heard they were going to be putting out a all-acoustic/live CD/DVD, I was ecstatic. Sevendust have always worked acoustic parts into their songs, and the concept just makes sense. Needless to say, for the most part, this set satisfies the die-hard Sevendust fan. First of all, the tracklisting is stunning. They definitely chose some of their greatest material to perform here. Obviously tracks like "Angel's Son" and "Skeleton Song" work flawlessly on here (as they are originally acoustic to begin with), but there are a few little surprises thrown in that end up working very well. "Trust," which is probably my favorite Sevendust song, opens the album and sounds like a totally new song here. Principal songwriter and the unofficial second vocalist, Clint Lowery, takes the mic for the dramatic "X-Mas Day," which, in my opinion, is the shining moment of the whole set. The band also does a cover of "Hurt," which, overall, sounds excellent, but with two flaws: Clint gets the lyrics wrong more than a few times, which is grating because the original is one of my favorite songs, and what's with the Johnny Cash dedication? Does anyone remember that this song was originally done by Nine Inch Nails? Read more ›

I've been a fan of Sevendust since 1997. Their heavy, yet rhythmic riffs, is what always kept me waiting around for that "next" cd. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Hit the Dust
Sevendust does it again. Another rocking CD, even with the softer acoustic sound, Sevendust rivals any hard rocking band out there, even if they never have a top 10 radio hit.
