5.0 out of 5 stars Make Some Sense Out Of Today's Headlines, July 14, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Soviet Art of Brain-Washing: Communist Psychopolitics and the Slaughter of Western Culture (Paperback)
I originally read Psychopolitics in 1972 while in the Navy, stationed in San Diego. I thought it was somewhat interesting at the time, having just "graduated" from the Navy boot camp at Great Lakes, IL. I never gave it a thought actually, until I ran across it again in an ad in a politically oriented newspaper, (forgot the name), and I ordered a copy. This was in the late 80s. Re-reading the booklet again, much to my surprise, explained MUCH of what was going on in the national news. I began to look to see if the book could explain what I observed as national trends away from individual responsibility, personal freedom, etc. and toward centralized government and a Fascist society. It did then and hasn't been wrong since as an indicator to explain everything from Goals 2000, rise of illegal as well a psychiatric drug use in society, gun control, to why the national media continually embarrasses the presidency, (and I am NO fan of President ! ! Clinton.) Just recently, I became aware of criticism of the book both in the book media and on the internet. Well...all I ask is that one compares the methods described in the book to what is happening as reported in the media, and look for yourself. And that's all. Who originally wrote the book, and why are not relevant if the book DOES explain social events and trends. Does the book stand by itself to describe a method actually at work in society? After over 20 years of observation I have to answer...YES! I challenge others to get the book, (it's not expensive), read it and then LOOK! Good hunting! END

2.0 out of 5 stars This is the re-titled version #5 of the "Russian" text., June 13, 2005
This review is from: The Soviet Art of Brain-Washing: Communist Psychopolitics and the Slaughter of Western Culture (Paperback)
Originally titled: 'Brainwashing, A Synthesis of the Russian Textbook on Psychopolitics'. Do a google search with the booklet's name plus "Hubbard," and find out who actually wrote it. Unfortunately, Goff forgot to remove some of the Dianetic and Scientology lingo from the booklet. Oops! Maybe by version #10, they'll finally remove the references to 'Dianetics', etc. This doesn't mean that your concerns about totalitarianism are silly. They're not. But, as we say in Brooklyn, my dear fellow, this booklet happens to be a fake.
