"Soy Como Quiero Ser" is a good starting point for Mr. Miguel.
The duets with Laura Branigan and Rocio Banquells in the songs "Sin Hablar" and "No Me Puedo Escapar De Ti" are just beautiful and juvenil. The songs "Ahora te puedes marchar" and "Perdoname" are great interpretations and adaptations from songs that were orginally in English. Other songs that stand out are "Soy como quiero ser" and "Cuando calienta el sol". The former is a song written by Luis Miguel's father the late Luisito Rey a Spanish singer. This is a powerful song that expresses both father and son's personal feelings of looking at the world and their self-suffiency and Independence. The later is a song that made Luis Miguel the "Sol de Mexico" and a sex symbol in his native Mexico and in the Latin world. This song is a very upbeat positive and juvenil song that just makes you feel good and have a good time at the beach and play volleyball with friends. I know that it seems that I am exaggerting but trust me the song is that good. This isn't his best album but if one is going to have a collection of this artist then this album is a great starting point! Have fun with this album!

"Soy Como Quiero Ser" is an enjoyable collection from Latin pop king Luis Miguel. All of the songs are in Spanish, and many of them are Spanish versions of pop songs that were popular in English. Listeners may recognize such tunes as "Perdoname" (in English, its chorus was "All by Myself") and "Sunny," among others. There is a good mix of faster and slower tempo songs.

Luis brings great enthusiasm, as well as a strong and versatile voice, to his performances. I was particularly impressed by his rendition of the title song. There are two duets, including one with Laura Branigan ("Sin Hablar"). Overall, not his best album, but still good collection of songs.

Este material "soy como quiero ser" demuestra el cambio que hizo Luis Miguel de cantar canciones de adolecetes a las de un hombre tal como "No me puedo escapar de ti" vemos su total madurez en cuanto cualidad y de alli en adelante solo ha habido exitos tras exito.

This CD is great, really personifies who Luis Miguel was in the beginning of his career. Although most of his songs speak about love, it is these love songs that have become classics and can be still fully enjoyed even today. Other tracks such as "Cuando Calienta el Sol" and "Soy Como Quiero Ser" have also become landmark songs from this album. I listen to this album constantly and never get tired of it!

This collection songs was Luis Miguel's comeback hit after his first triumph as a child singer. The songs are catchy, familiar and fun to sing along with!

Es uno de los mejores trabajos musicales de Luis miguel, donde el interpreta canciones de la onda retro, tal como "eres tu" de mocedades, "solo tu" de los platters , entre otras.Aqui hay canciones muy alegres y romanticas como "cuando calienta el sol" y "ahora te puedes marchar, que estvieron muy bien apoyadas por excelentes videos y entre las romaticas sobresalen:"yo que no vivo sin ti" y "no puedo escapar de ti" cantado a duo con la actriz de telenovelas Rocio Banquells. Tambien sobresale otra cancion cantadas a dueto con Laura Branigan "sin hablar" y en conclusion puedo decir que este cd vale la pena comprarlopues digno de coleccion.

The voice and style of "Luismi" is not amazing, it's just O.K., like the rest of the albums that follow this one. Many singers can have a hit with spanish versions of songs like "Ahora te puedes marchar", "Yo que no vivo sin ti", the classic of Mocedades "Eres tu", "Only you"("Solo tu")the classic of the Platters, "Cuando calienta el sol", a latin rock'n roll hit, also "Perdoname" (All by myself)from Eric Carmen, and the popular "Sunny".

Luis Miguel performance is creative in "Yo que no vivo sin ti" and "Cuando Calienta El Sol", too much soft in "Eres tu" and "Sin hablar.

Just one thing: this album is great af a gift for every romantic lady.

ESPAÑOL. El éxito de este album se debió a que las canciones y la música son excelentes, apoyadas por una fuerte publicidad. La voz de "Luismi" no es sorprendente, es sólo "buena", como en el resto de los albumes que siguen a este.

Muchos cantantes pueden tener un éxito con versiones en español de canciones como "Ahora te puedes marchar", "Yo que no vivo sin ti", el clásico de Mocedades "Eres tú", "Sólo tú" el clásico de los Platters, "cuando calienta el sol" un hit del rock and roll en español de los 60's, "Perdóname" (All by myself de Eric Carmen), y la popular "Sunny".

La interpretación de Luis Miguel es creativa en "Yo que no vivo sin ti" y "cuando calienta el Sol", demasiado suave en "Eres tú" y "Sin hablar".

Lo que sí es que este disco sirve como buen regalo para cualquier chica romántica.
