With its large size and relaxing lavender scent, this eye pillow is soothing and calming. In fact I used to have a problem with falling asleep, but using my eye pillow seems to trigger relaxation all over my body. I keep it by my bed for any time I need to rest. For those who have never tried one, I recommend this.

I am giving this 4 stars rather than 5 stars for several reasons. Although the fabric is very silky and perfect for an eye pillow (unlike some fabrics with raised designs in the fabric and a stiffer feel), the fabric is very fragile. When I was taking the eye pillow out of the package, the silk snagged on the velcro close. There is still a snag in the fabric unfortunately. Too bad. Also a piece of lavender twig poked through the fabric and I had to pull it out. It doesn't appear that there is a lining under the silk fabric, so the lavender and flax filling could poke through again and the fabric could snag easily on fingernails, etc. Other than that, the eye pillow is luxuriously silky and pretty in the two tones. The lavender scent is fairly heavy as compared with some eye pillows, so it may not appeal to all. For those who haven't tried an eye pillow, it is a wonderful getaway from light and the pressure on the eyes serves to promote restfulness and calm.Happy Relaxing! A very good deal with Amazon shipping for a nicely weighted and larger sized pillow!

Too big and scent too strong,

I have used eye pillows in yoga class before and I thought this would be similar. However, this one is so big that it doesn't seem to rest the weight directly on the eyes; instead the flax seeds mostly fall down to the ends of the eye pillow and the weight sits around my temples. It is also too wide, so it rests way down on my nose. Ideally this eye pillow's dimensions would be reduced by 25% in both length and width. I plan to fold over and sew one end of it to reduce the length to see if that will help.The fragrance, while nice, is a bit too strong for sleeping or yoga relaxation. I actually found it to be quite stimulating instead of relaxing. On the plus side, the materials of the eye pillow are really nice and soft.
