5.0 out of 5 stars VENOM-SPEWING ATTITUDE R&R PUTS OTHER BANDS TO SHAME
The fifth album from the most underrated bandin the last 20 years is a full-on assault of pureattitude rock'n'roll. Lead singer Kory Clarke lives and breathes whatever he sings and drivesit home with pure conviction. Very sadly, thiswas the swan song for this band, but the band was so ahead of it's time they will probably be regarded as Gods in fifteen years. This...

2.0 out of 5 stars unreadable lyrics to unlistenable songs
This mess gets the award for worst album packaging ever. The booklet is fat, blurry, green letters on a green, white and yellow background that are IMPOSSIBLE to read. You cannot even read the titles to the songs on the back of the CD, so print out the Amazon track list if you make the mistake of buyng this crappy CD. What does it say about the content of the lyrics if...

This albumis different from earlier releases, as theygravitated away from the straight-ahead, creativemetal, and moved towards angrier, screw-you attitude-type music. The earlier releases, though are excellent, andthe good news is that everyone should keep theireyes out for Kory Clarke's new band, SpaceAge Playboys, which carries on the tradition of this type of music.

4.0 out of 5 stars THIS IS PUNK WITH ATTITUDE., June 6, 2001

Never heard of them before this album and sadly they were never to be heard of again. However, this album brings back memories from the Sex Pistols days, when Johnny Rotten really was rotten to the core, the music was aggresive and had rhythm at the same time. Bands like Warrior Soul will always find it hard to breakthrough to the mainstream as the music will never appeal to the teeny bopper element thast rules the corporate music world.

I have only given this album four stars because although there are some real gems of tracks on the album, there is also a few duds. The best tracks are by far Rocket Engines, The Drug, Lets get wasted, Rotten Soul, I wanna get some, Look at you and Fightin' the war.

This album is NOT heavy metal. It is very clearly and obviously punk music.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Band of the 90s!, July 15, 2000

With RAP music taking over Mtv these days and most musical markets including what is called Rock these days, it's nice to know a band was around that stuck to it's guns and stayed true. Next to Metallica and Sabbath, I would say Warrior Soul is my third favorite band ever. All 5 releases from this band shredded but unfortunately Geffen records chose to promote an egotistical moron (Axl Rose) and a fallen hero who changed the face of music as I knew it (Kurt Cobain/Nirvana)and pretty much ignored this great, great band. Space Aged Playboys took a more simple and raw direction then previous efforts but showed what REAL R&R attitude and Punk were about. It's to bad the younger generations have to be spoonfed bands like Limp Bizcuit and Blink 182. In my oppinion, these bands couldn't tie Warrior soul's shoes!

From start to finish this cd rocks...hard. This is where Warrior Soul finally said screw politics let's party. This is one of the best rock cds of the 1990's and it sure is a shame they never followed this up.

4.0 out of 5 stars These guys quality as artists in my book, not just musicians, July 28, 2000

These guys quality as artists in my book, not just musicians. Potent lyrics and incendiary musicianship put Warrior Soul in a class by themselves. The guitar work is amazing, seeming to pulsate with energy and imagination. Vocals polish this effort and Warrior Soul's Korey Clarke has always been able to sound anguished and angry at the same time. Almost rap-like in the way he delivers his phrases, he creates intensity out of anything he sings. The drummer relies mainly on his snare and symbols, but he does a good job.

I also recommend another WS album Sex God & The New Republic, especially if you like arena-rock sounding albums, as it is produced better and with a more spacious sound.

5.0 out of 5 stars Raunchy heavy rock with an attitude, July 24, 2000

Pulsating anger, heavy guitars, simple but powerfull riffs and a stomping mid-tempo pace. This is Warrior Soul's best offering and I recommend to anybody who likes heavy rock. Although the lyrics are a bit on the depressive/angry side, listening to this CD is like being plugged into high voltage, I feel like bursting with energy every time!

4.0 out of 5 stars Boy Did You Ever Miss Out!, March 4, 2006
This review is from: Space Age Playboys (Audio CD)
Warrior Soul's angst & ferocity are where many bands of 2005/06 wish they could get to...After a couple of overall weaker albums the band redeems themself with Space Age Playboys. Although a much different album musically. It is still powerful & exciting but the band went for a glam meets early punk mix of musical styles. Kory Clark still one of the best screamers of all-time & he doesn't disappoint at all here. As an album goes this is the kind of record that you put on and play all the way to its end. "Rocket Engines", "The Drug", "The Image" & onward this is a powerful assault & one that should not be missed. The production quality is equal to the debut & I think the songs are nearly as good. The closer "Fighten' The War" is a big bombastic track & for it alone a worthy purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars the album i always expected from warrior soul, January 3, 2001
This review is from: Space Age Playboys (Audio CD)
i've liked warrior soul for awhile. their song "the wasteland" got me hooked. WS always showed me glimpses of what they could be but never totally put it together til this album. this is the effort i always knew they had in them. it's very gibson guitar rock n roll and with solid songs from top to bottom. they seem to have the political edge of a rage against the machine and a pissed off attitude of a soundgarden. this particular album isn't as politically driven, tho. SAPB is fun, aggressive and it rocks hard. it was sad to hear they broke up after putting out what i consider to easily be their best effort. i highly recommend this album for hard rock fans who are looking to hear a cool band they probably haven't heard from before.

You cannot even read the titles to the songs on the back of the CD, so print out the Amazon track list if you make the mistake of buyng this crappy CD. What does it say about the content of the lyrics if the band does not want you to read them. The songs themselves, nothing special here, just your Gun N Roses era late hair band trying to be a punk band, and sounding undistinctive, unmemorable, and easily ignorable. Stick with the Dead Century album, and skip this garbage.
