I found this band/album when I heard "Take the Leaves" on a Pandora station and instantly fell in love. The entire album is great, I highly recommend it.

We first heard The Lesser Birds of Paradise at a little club in Arlington, VA a few years ago. Over the years, their music has matured and expanded. With "Space Between" they've reached a new level of artistry, that is truly innovative and interesting. One cut, "You Are My Sunshine" was a recent selection as the NPR.org song of the day. It's a slow and totally new take on the old classic. My favorite, though, is "The Devil's Rope." This CD is great to listen to. Throughout, the music is engaging and interesting (even a common handsaw becomes an instrument for The Lesser Birds), and the melody and refrain from "The Devil's Rope" will keep you humming all day! This is a kind of timeless folk music with a modern twist. I'm a young baby-boomer, but even my kids love this CD.
