5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely blown away.
This album is incredible. When I purchased this CD I had no clue how much God would touch my heart through listening to Building 429's music. Some of the songs were familiar, such as the title track. But the most amazing thing about this CD is the lyrics. Every song has powerful, moving lyrics that reach right into you and touch your heart. There will be at least one song...

2.0 out of 5 stars Im not a kid
In my opinion most of these songs sound the same. And One Time To Many is a blatant rip-off of Cadillac by Mest. The meanings are good but the music is very mediocre and boring. Just my opinion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely blown away., September 6, 2004

This album is incredible. When I purchased this CD I had no clue how much God would touch my heart through listening to Building 429's music. Some of the songs were familiar, such as the title track. But the most amazing thing about this CD is the lyrics. Every song has powerful, moving lyrics that reach right into you and touch your heart. There will be at least one song on this album that describes EXACTLY what you've been feeling - I guarantee it. There's a good balance of upbeat and meditative songs, too. The band also has strong vocals. If you like bands like Switchfoot & Newsboys you will love Building 429.

My personal favorites are "Above it All" (track #2), "Shadow of Angels" (track #6), "No One Else Knows" (track #7; a deeply meditative, very touching piece), & "You Are Loved" (track #11). But it's so hard to pick any favorites because all the songs are wonderful. Typically a CD has one or two standout tracks with the rest falling behind in a mediocre fashion but not so with this CD. All the songs are equally wonderful, which is another thing that makes this album so unique.

If you're looking for music that will stretch you in your faith and force you to really look into yourself...then this is the CD for you. Highly, HIGHLY recommended!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Can't Miss From Start to Finish, February 21, 2005
This review is from: Space in Between Us (Audio CD)
Wow.
That about sums up Buliding 429's first full-length CD. A mainstream sound with insight and depth (can it be). These guys were blessed by GOD with incredible musical talents. They write thought provoking, praiseful lyrics with a sound almost anyone can find enjoyable. Vertical Horizon and Goo Goo Dolls immediately come to mind for sound alikes from the mainstream genre. They would sell millions of CD's if they spent their time singing about love lost etc.. None the less they should sell plenty to the ever growing CCM market. This is one of the few CD's I own which can be played start to finish without skipping a song. (However, I do find myself replaying several songs over and over again). Put on this CD and you will find yourself singing every song. Fans of the above mentioned bands should instantly put this on their must-listen-to list. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to this CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best ever CCR groups, June 20, 2005

This review is from: Space in Between Us (Audio CD)
This CD is really touching. The lyrics have touched me deeply personally due to some things happening in my life at the moment. Building 429 are a contemporary christian rock group that have some soft rock songs mixed with alt rock and a few heavier rock beats. Overall this CD is terrific and a must for any listener who has liked Across The Sky, Sky Harbour or Casting Crowns. The listener will be able to feel the emotion behind the lyrics and the beauty of the music will take you away. All the songs are melodic and easily sung too. All the songs were good but the absolute stand-outs for me were 'Glory Defined' the hit of this album followed by 'The Space Between Us', 'Back To Me, and lastly 'Never Look Away'.
It is the best to date CCR album I have listened too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly good, February 11, 2005
This review is from: Space in Between Us (Audio CD)
I picked up this album as I was familiar with their Glory Defined song. The overall feel of the album is praise induced rock. The tempo is slow rock but not so slow that you'll get bored listening to it. One song seems to flow into another. I really enjoyed this album and will be listening to it again and again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Oh, so this is the group that sings "Glory Defined", December 16, 2004

This review is from: Space in Between Us (Audio CD)
that is what I first said when I heard of this group. I had heard Glory Defined on the radio, and I became interested, and now I have found another really good band! My two favorites on this are "Glory Defined" and the title track, "Space In Between Us". This CD is also "enhanced" so it comes with extras. It comes with chord charts so you can play "Glory Defined" on your guitar and also a video of it. This CD is worth the money- I suggest buying it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't get any better than this!!, November 9, 2004
This review is from: Space in Between Us (Audio CD)
This will definitely be my favorite CD this year! I must admit, after the release of "GLORY DEFINED" I expected the follow-up CD to be a little disappointing. But this CD is totally AMAZING!! If you're looking for a CD that only has one good song on it, this isn't for you!

And, for all you rock/alternative fans, don't EVER pass up the chance to see them in concert - B429 ROCKS the house!

BUY IT - you'll love it .....!

5.0 out of 5 stars The best Christian music Album since "Jars of Clay"(self-titled), December 21, 2005
This review is from: Space in Between Us (Audio CD)
Let me preface this by saying that I'm an old school rock fan. That is I prefer good instrumentals over good or cool lyrics every time. That being said this easily the best Christian album I've heard in a long time. Note I didn't say this is the best album by a christian artist I've heard in a long time Savior by Skillet for example was a brilliant album especially if you like metal but it wasn't necessarily a great christian album that is to say that it didn't have any truely gripping or interesting socio-religious commentary.

This album really is a worship album for the 21'st century. Glory Defined is an incrediblly moving ballad that to be quite frank I'm almost a little suprised didn't get any air-play on main-stream radio. I haven't listened to this album enough to pick out details on indiviidual tracks yet but as whole this album is brilliantly produced and has touching religious lyrics that back up the instrumentals. As a Christian I think that it is important for people to listen to music with religious messages for most people the types of truly religious music such as choirs, hymns, and modern worship choruses can seem inaccessible but even so I think it's important that you listen to music that speaks to you that you can also enjoy. Literally whatever kind of music your into this is possible. If you don't believe me consider this. My favourite genere of music is british rock(for record the U2 is the greatest band of all time). A great british rock band that is also a great worship band I listen to is Delirious I could go on talking about other great bands that have written worship music in unlikely generes but it would be pointless. In conculsion if your looking for a christmas present this is a great worship/rock album buy it if that sounds in anyway enticing to you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Starts strong, ends....not as strong, August 21, 2005
This review is from: Space in Between Us (Audio CD)
This cd opens up with their old skool creedish-like single Glory Defined which is a pretty good alt. rocker. Next up are the wonderful songs Above It All, The Space In Between Us (Best soft rock song of the year in my opinion) and the surprising hard rocker One Time Too Many. However, after the first 4 songs, the cd takes a dip for the worse. While none of the tracks towards the end are horrible they are just rather generic and seem to be lacking a certain hop. If the rest of the cd were like the first four songs I'd be giving this a 5+ on the rating system.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, Awesome, Fantastic...and More!!, March 10, 2005

This review is from: Space in Between Us (Audio CD)
Building 429 is one of my favorite christian bands now. This Cd is filled with great songs that you can sing out loud to. I havent stopped listening to it yet. It's about time another completely great chrisitan cd came out. Anyone and Everyone should buy thier cd. It is a definite must hear. The music is the kind of rock I love to hear; not to loud, not to crazy, with just the right touch.
