5.0 out of 5 stars Mind bending tales of space exploration October 29, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
A fast, fun read full of new and disturbing takes on Lovecraftian horrors through the lens of space travel. Or is it disturbing and new takes on Sci-fi through the lens of ancient and nameless horrors? Either way, this book is filled with well crafted tales that make a staunch fan of Space exploration take a moment to seriously rethink "is this a good idea?"

5.0 out of 5 stars Holy.... well nothing! November 10, 2012
By Ben H
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I have been a fan of the unrelated work of one of the writers. Enough so that when he mentioned writing a short story in a genre that normally doesn't interest me, I decided to give the benefit of the doubt.

All I can say is the writers of the various short stories are very talented and I would likely have paid the price of the collection for each story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Genuinely Interesting and Creepy November 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This set of unconnected short stories seamlessly melds H.P. Lovecraft's mythos with science fiction from several eras. Sometimes the heroes triumph over evil, sometimes the results are... more unsettling. The authors do a great job of building tension, providing hope and dread in mixed measure, and ending each tale in a manner worthy of their inspiration.

I especially liked "Flight of the Runewright" and "Gods in Darkness".

5.0 out of 5 stars Ancient evil dovetails so perfectly with scifi November 30, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I was surpised by how well these genres merged, this collection of authors writing short stories on the same theme provides an anthology that will leave you scared to watch star trek again!

I picked this up as a fan of Howard Tayler, and loved his addition but then entire collection oulled together in the harness to leave me wanting more, but dreading the concepts to come as well.

An excellent collection; the works range from spooky-entertaining to downright mind-bending! A must have for any fans of the authors, or the Lovecraftian horror genre.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great writing October 29, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This is perfect for anyone that loves horror and scifi, although I'd think most people would enjoy this. Great mixture of stories on Lovecraft lore.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well written October 29, 2012

Thoroughly enjoyed this book, the stories were well written, and kept me engrossed the whole day. Not your typical sci-fi settings, the addition of the Lovecraftian themes a nice addition.

5.0 out of 5 stars TOO SHORT!! November 7, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Of course, as a short story anthology, that the way it goes. Each of the stories grabbed my attention and kept it until the end. Each was unique and had the right amount of plot twist or plot tension to make the premise work as both science fiction and horror. Well done.

4.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining collection of stories
I loved Howard Taylor's short, but I and haven't really gotten through the rest of them. If you get it, skip to the last one; as far as I can tell, it's the best in the book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good as Sci-fi, Average as Eldritch
The quality of these Lovecraftian sci-fi stories varies quite a bit (as with any anthology). I thought that all of them were at least good (a couple very good) as science fiction... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Bought for one story, enjoyed all
I bought it to read Howard Tayler's contribution, being a fan of his webcomic. I am not a fan of horror, and Lovecraft generally leaves me feeling befuddled, not frightened. Read more
