Asimov proves that his writing talent extends to writing for children,
By Charles Ashbacher (Marion, Iowa United States) - See all my reviews (TOP 500 REVIEWER) (VINE VOICE) (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER)
This review is from: Space Explorers (Isaac Asimov's New Library of the Universe) (Library Binding)
The late great Isaac Asimov was a writer whose talent breadth was substantial. He wrote everything from science fiction where the emphasis was on science to mystery stories that required a bit of thought. In this book, he demonstrates that his talent also extended to writing for young people. Many writers find it hard to write for children, as they are unable to simplify the presentation while retaining the content.
As he demonstrates in this book about space exploration, Asimov proves that he does not suffer from that particular weakness. His ability to explain complex scientific principles is unequaled and this synopsis of space exploration hits the high points using the proper tone and terminology. I strongly recommend this as a resource for students in early elementary school that are studying space. |
